Porsches conversions make great lightweight Electric Cars. Exterior body options are plentiful;

 C2, 959 & 993 are available in coupe, targa, removable coupe and cabriolet.

With  controllers reaching 1000 - 2000 amps,  AGM batteries and the light weight 911 chassis 

these electric cars have respectable performance.  Fun to drive as they are virtually silent and coast

very easily  when you let off the accelerator  pedal.

The Electric Porsche drives like a normal car but does not require shifting for those who don't

like to shift.  You can shift if you want for  a little more performance. Its just that electric motors

don't stall from 4th gear starts. The torque is available from a dead stop with no clutch or revving

necessary.    Normal shifting you may find that 3rd and 4th gear are sufficient for faster driving.  

E meters give stats on Voltage, Amps draw, Amp hours left, and other functions.

Car power can be custom built for you... you may favor range or speed.  Normal  voltages range

from 156 to 336 volts. More batteries mean more weight but also more range.  Special AGM

Lead acid, Lithium Ion, Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Zinc provide fine tuning of the range verses

optimum handling trade off.  The most promising is the Lithium Ion , its high price is its only downfall.

* Electric cars do not have to deal with: Faulty water pumps, hoses, radiator leaks, oil burning,

oil smell, oil leaks, running out of gas, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, carburetors, burned valves,

worn lifters, loud exhaust, emissions, catalytic converters, worn starters, spark plugs, fuel filters,

bad distributor wires, distributor caps, rotors, ECM  brains, broken rings, scored pistons, warped

heads, head gaskets, antifreeze, and dependence on oil...
